Penyuluhan Kesehatan tentang Peran dan Dukungan Keluarga dalam Mendukung Proses Pemulihan Pasien Gangguan Jiwa

Abstract

The counseling session on "The Role and Support of Families in Supporting the Recovery Process of Mental Disorder Patients" was conducted at the West Java Provincial Mental Hospital on December 31, 2024. This activity aimed to enhance the understanding of patients’ families regarding their essential role in supporting recovery and preventing relapse in mental disorder patients. The methods used included lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and the use of leaflet media. The materials presented covered the definition and types of family support, family responsibilities, and practical steps to effectively assist patients. The results of the session indicated an improvement in participants' understanding of the family’s role in patient recovery, demonstrated by active participation during the session and their ability to answer evaluation questions. The positive impact was reflected in the readiness of families to provide more effective support to patients. This counseling session is expected to be a strategic initial step in supporting the recovery process of mental disorder patients while reinforcing the family’s role as an integral part of mental health care.
